We currently have a brilliant opportunity for a Sales Estimator to join our growing team at Fen-Bay Services. We are seeking a permanent, full time Sales Estimator to join our Small Works team based at our Welbourn site.

Purpose of role:

To use industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for customers.  To ensure estimates are issued within set timeframes and profitability is achieved.  To continuously seek out new estimating opportunities and provide excellent customer service.

Main duties:

  • To abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved policies & processes are followed.
  • To provide repair/remedial quotations following call outs and maintenance.
  • To send quotations to customers and chase for updates appropriately.
  • To liaise with suppliers for best pricing and lead times.
  • To liaise with customers regarding their requirements and any new sales.
  • To provide general customer service updates.
  • To ensure that engineers are gathering enough details from jobs and upholding standards by reporting back to coordinators.
  • To set tasks and chase quotes daily for updates/new orders.
  • To manage the quotes submitted tab on the CRM System to ensure you are working as live as possible with no back log, within a 6-month time frame.
  • To update the prices and parts appendix for each customer to ensure continuity and consistency in quotes.
  • To have sound knowledge of past jobs.
  • To ensure that the CRM system is updated with all relevant information to allow the small works team to order parts as efficiently as possible.
  • To ensure that product knowledge is kept up to date.
  • To have basic technical knowledge on parts.
  • To set attributes of how quoted repairs are going to be carried out.
  • To ensure customer satisfaction on pricing by keeping competitive.
  • To have commercial awareness and ensure profitability is achieved on all jobs.

Head of Group Health & Safety

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Professional to join our growing team at Fen-Bay Services. You will be responsible for the development of all health and safety management systems to ensure compliance with current legislation and approved code of practices.

Purpose of the role:

  • The post will provide advice, support and guidance for Fen-Bay Services Staff to assist them in maintaining health and safety standards, fully embedding health and safety principles into the Fen Bay Services culture. The role will be hands on initially and site visits to perform Health and Safety inspections with the ability to own and deliver upon any improvement opportunities will be essential.

  • We are looking for a qualified Health and Safety professional who can make use of their experience and knowledge in a similar environment to lead, motivate and influence others at both operational and strategic levels within Fen Bay Services.

The Role:

  • Act as the Responsible Person for all health and safety matters across the Fen-Bay Group, identifying and responding to current legal and best practice requirements.
  • Set the strategic direction for effective health and safety management and appropriate workplace wellbeing programmes for the Fen-Bay Group.
  • Review and develop all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing policies and activity, and ensure that it is implemented consistently across the organisation.
  • Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensure that the Fen-Bay Group has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance and other requirements
  • Work proactively with managers and other key employees to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health, safety and wellbeing within their areas of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the Health and Safety Co-Ordinator to ensure compliance requirements are being controlled, documented and maintained in accordance with regulations and guidelines
  • Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the organisation
  • Liaise with HR on health and wellbeing issues particularly where a risk assessment has identified a need, including supporting HR and line managers in carrying out individual risk assessments when required.
  • Oversee and undertake audits where appropriate and ensure an action plan with SMART objectives is established to address issues identified
  • Identify, provide and/or procure an effective health and safety related training regime
  • The role requires some flexibility with regard to working hours and may occasionally require some evenings and the occasional weekend

 

The Skillset:

The successful candidate should hold a Formal qualification in Health and Safety e.g. degree or NVQ Level 4 or Diploma and possess a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Candidate should be able to demonstrate health and safety experience in a similar role and industry.

Call Out Co-ordinator

We currently have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Call Out Coordinator to join our growing team at Fen-Bay Services.

We are seeking a permanent, full time Call Out Coordinator to join our team based at our Welbourn site.

Purpose of a Call-Outs Coordinator:

The Call Out Coordinator will report to the Reactive Operations Manager. Key to the success of our operation is a knowledgeable, professional and well organised Call Outs team. Therefore, we are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to support our busy team and will undertake the following duties: –

Responsibilities and Duties:

Customers

  • Deliver an excellent service delivery for both regional & key account customers
  • Deliver a service that meets customer SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Achieve ‘turn around’ times on jobs so they are within agreed SLA’s
  • Drive AWR quality through engineers to meet customer spend criteria thresholds
  • Deliver ‘first time fix’ through engineers
  • Keep customer updated throughout; and deliver bad news first

Operations

  • Assist Regional Support with logging and issuing call out’s
  • Check engineers are following ‘Safety Absolutes’ during telephone conversations/FaceTime calls
  • Check plant/equipment is correct with engineer BEFORE attending to reduce avoidable down time
  • Plan work in advance based on supplier delivery dates
  • Keep engineers productive by ensuring there are always ‘floating’ jobs on their vans/servicing
  • Forward plan engineer resource to cover high workloads/planned holidays/peak periods
  • Check all completed jobs in ‘real time’ and action accordingly
  • Action ‘AWR’s immediately and/or first job following day from OOH call outs
  • Promote a strong health and safety work ethic.
  • Preparing Health and Safety documentation/Risk Method Statements

Financials

  • Achieve monthly regional target
  • Actively reduce ‘aged’ jobs to achieve agreed SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Ensure ‘Van Stock’ and ‘Container Stock’ procedures are adhered to and stock replenished
  • Check ‘black stock’ stored in Warehouse 2 is maximised, prior to ordering any materials externally

Reporting

  • Achieve daily, weekly, monthly routines
  • Update all systems in ‘real time’ for clear visibility
  • Report on poor data quality and/or data issues within agreed time frames
  • Report on warranty / call back / non-productive activities within agreed time frames

People (direct reports; engineers)

  • Lead by example; and challenge inappropriate behaviour
  • Attendance, absenteeism, performance management, HR issues
  • Report any identified training needs

 As Call-Outs Coordinator, you will have already gained experience in a fast-paced administration environment. You must be organised, have excellent attention to detail and able to manage your workload effectively. You must be confident to work with various IT systems.  You will need to be a strong communicator in both verbal & written English and be both polite and professional to external and internal customers/colleagues. Being able to ‘think on your feet’ you will be able to use your initiative to adapt quickly to any change of situations, keeping a calm temperament. Additionally, you should be able to develop key relationships, working effectively as an individual and as well as part of the team.  The ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential and an engineering background would be desirable.   A role within team management would be an advantage alongside working in an engineering environment.

Welder-Fabricator

Following recent growth, we require a skilled Welder/Fabricator. The successful applicant would join a small, busy team working on a range of equipment including industrial gates, steel framework, bespoke frames and posts.

The role is varied with a range of work types from new manufacture through to repairs and refurbishment.

The team works to tight deadlines whilst having to meet clear quality and finish standards. All equipment leaving the workshop must be fit for purpose and sufficiently durable for the demanding environment in which it will be used.

The Role:

  • High quality fabrication and welding – MIG/MMA
  • Able to interpret and work accurately to engineering drawings

Essential skills required:

  • Welding – MIG and NMA with a proven ability to weld to high standards
  • Full current driving licence
  • Experience within a busy workshop environment

Desirable skills:

  • Telehandler or Fork Lift Licence
  • Operating overhead workshop Crane

Hours: Full time – 42.5 hours per week

Purpose of an Installations Coordinator:

The Installation Coordinator will report to the Installations Manager. Key to the success of our operation is a knowledgeable, professional and well organised Installation team. Therefore, we are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to support our busy team and will undertake the following duties: –

What you’ll do:

  • Co-ordinating project handover from the Sales Team though to contract closure.
  • Preparing Health and Safety documentation/Risk Method Statements
  • Updating, supporting and communicating contract requirements to internal and external customers and deal with enquires promptly.
  • Co-ordinating installation teams to meet the demanding quality and service requirement.
  • Planning and scheduling of engineers for projects.
  • Arranging plant & machinery to site.
  • Ensuring all parts and products are appropriately despatched and received by the installation team.
  • Promote a strong health and safety work ethic.
  • Ensure that the project is invoiced to customer.

Warehouse Operative

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our growing team at Fen-Bay Services.

Purpose of the role:

You will play a key role in the day to day running of the Parts Department including accepting deliveries incoming and arranging deliveries outbound. You will also be responsible for organising parts for engineers both internally and externally. This is a busy position within our office and will ideally suit someone who has previously gained experience within an engineering warehouse environment.

 Responsibilities include:

Playing a key role in supporting colleagues by making sure orders are assembled correctly.

Maintaining a clear and tidy store and ensure any potential hazards are dealt with safely, quickly and efficiently.

Making sure stock is received, stored, packed and transported according to the highest standards

Taking responsibility for your own and others safety whilst at work

Working both independently and as part of a team

Electrician - Industrial Loading Bay Equipment

Purpose of the role:

Fen-Bays Team of PPM and Repairs Engineers are strategically placed through-out the UK to allow for our customers response times. The key to the success of our operation is a knowledgeable, professional and well-trained Engineering team who can deliver first time fixes to our extensive customers estate of associated products.  Therefore, we are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to support our busy team and will undertake the following duties: –

The Role:

Fen-bay Services require a suitably qualified and experienced electrician to both undertake and lead electrical work related to industrial loading bay equipment.  The successful candidate will use a working knowledge of electrical systems to conduct installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems and new installations, including testing and certification to BS7671:2018.  

Installation of new electrical cabling to supply industrial loading bay doors and equipment, adding to existing client infrastructure as required, while exemplifying safety standards and complying with current codes and regulations.  The role has a key requirement to oversee and guide multi-skilled installation engineers undertaking limited and defined electrical tasks on the equipment being installed.  

Duties

  • Work safely alongside other engineers with a range of electrical systems from 415v three phase supplies to 24v control systems
  • Work with client’s representatives to establish the safety and fitness for purpose of client infrastructure; specify required modifications or additions as appropriate 
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in loading bay equipment (doors, dock levellers, scissor lifts and associated ancillaries) and commercial electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring as required and component replacement
  • Assess parts requirements and liaise with the company’s supply office to ensure ordered materials are appropriate to the job
  • Conduct maintenance and testing of commercial electrical systems between the point of supply and the installed equipment with a specific requirement to undertake earth loop impedance testing.  Ensure installations are to manufacturer’s standards, with appropriate overload protection within the circuit
  • Fault diagnose and repair electrical systems fitted to loading bay equipment
  • Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements.  The job holder will be required to exemplify acceptable standards of electrical work that other, multi-skilled, installation engineers will emulate within the defined limits of their electrical work
  • Examine and test installation work completed by other, non-specialist members of the team
  • Possess working knowledge of IET regulations, hold City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications (or equivalent), and inspection and testing certificate (2391)
  • Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements

You will be fully experienced Gate and Barrier engineer who can apply your knowledge to the installation maintenance and servicing of a wide range of systems located nationwide.

The Skillset:

  • Proven experience working on gates and barriers within a commercial environment
  • Strong electrical abilities

  • Willing to travel nationally as required, and happy to stay away from home overnight
