Purpose of the role:
We’re looking for a confident, experience and reliable all-round Facilities Coordinator with a good understanding of the requirements of a large buildings’ general maintenance.
As a SHEF Coordinator you will play a vital role in creating a positive culture and responsible for managing all facilities related safety, health, environment systems, ensuring the site is compliant all legislation and regulation.
You will be supporting the Head of SHEQ and Head of Departments by effectively coordinating the development of our health, safety, environment, and quality procedures. Your contributions will directly impact our journey towards ISO accreditation, reflecting our commitment to excellence and responsible practices.
Main duties
- To abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved policies & processes are followed.
- Create, implement, and continually review our Facilities policies and procedures ensuring encourage best practice, mitigate risk, ensure legal, audit compliance, and keep our colleagues safe.
- Monitor and help embed new and existing processes, including investigating, incidents and significant near misses.
- Conduct regular audits of policy, ways of working and compliance to standards.
- Encourage the reporting of risks and hazards observed and provide recommendations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken, and that progress is monitored.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place which includes analysing risks as well as identifying, describing, and estimating the risks affecting the business and providing solutions to mitigate this.
- Ensure we meet our statutory compliance obligations such as LOLAR, HVAC, Electrical Safety etc.
- Create and deliver SHEQ inductions, training, and coaching sessions for colleagues.
- Assist with the design, development, and implementation of the sustainability agenda.
- Support the environmental risk assessment to support compliance in the sites Environmental Management Systems
- Ordering Facilities stock is ordered and available to colleagues when required.
What we need from you
- You are present and visible on the factory floor and across the site to drive the SHEQ agenda.
- An understanding of basic facilities management (FM) functionality inc. managing in-house and contractor maintenance teams
- An energy and passion to drive compliance, best practice, and continuous improvement in SHE & Facilities Management
- The ability to challenge, coach and influence others to follow our policies and procedures.
- You have a proactive solution focused approach and can use your initiative, be decisive and solve problems.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering roles with responsibility for Safety, Health and Environmental.
- You have experience with creating, developing, and implementing quality systems.
- HSE qualification, e.g., NEBOSH, IEMA.
- Experience of assisting Safety, Health, or Environmental projects.
- Strong communication skills with experience of building relationships, with the ability to coach, advise and drive culture.

- GCSE English A-C Grade or equivalent
Experience
