How long have you been with Fen-Bay?

I’ve been working at Fen-Bay for 7 months now.

Why did you choose to work at Fen-Bay and what is your favourite part about working here?

Fen-Bay Services offered me an opportunity to change direction and further my career within an industry I love – an offer I couldn’t refuse!

What position did you join the company as and what position/job title do you hold now?

I work in the technical field sales team with a focus on perimeter protection systems.

Has your role changed since you’ve been here?

I recently passed my 6-month probation. It’s still early days but I look forward to furthering my career within the company.

What does a normal day look like?

A normal day would consist of liaising with customers or the management team on numerous sites per day to discuss their requirements on perimeter protection. I aways ensure I’ve collated all information necessary to put together a scope of works, gathering all costings for materials required from various suppliers. Once all this is in place, I create the final quotation to be approved by directors before sending out to the client.

What skills or attributes do you need to be good at your job?

Good customer relations, attention to detail, communication skills, product knowledge, driving license and being capable of working in a fluid environment.

What have been your proudest moments at FBS?

Securing a big project in Warrington, this job consisted of multiple products from the automated Bi-fold gates, automated barrier both with ANPR system and intercoms to the perimeter fencing over 250m.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to work in a similar role to yours?

You must have dedication, enthusiasm and thrive on delivery outstanding customer service.

How much training have you had access to and what type of training?

I’ve spent time with Tom Kirk our Head of Division and Andrew Adams, Lead Surveyor. Tom is also looking into electrical awareness course and I’m currently going through training with Francesca White on compiling the quotations for the clients which will make this a seamless process, I’m also keen for all training to help me develop and grow within the company.

What are your main responsibilities?

My main responsibilities include sales, developing new customer relationships, building on current customer relations, attending sites, putting together the scope, costings, and quotation for clients.

How to you unwind after a busy day?

I enjoy going to the gym and I’m currently training for Hyrox in Birmingham this October.
